The South African F1 Powerboat Series makes its way to Richards Bay for the sixth round of the 2008/9 championship. The event, the first coastal race of the season, will take place on 4 & 5 April in the habour near the Tuzi Gazi Waterfront. Paul Shepard has opened up a 22 point lead at the top of the championship log and will be looking to extend that in his quest for a record fifth successive title. Second placed Elzane de Jager will be doing her best to stop him as will Brett Stuart who is currently in fourth.
The F1 boats will take to the water for their first practice session on Saturday morning with time trials getting underway at 14h30. The first of Sunday's three heats will start at 10h30 with the other two scheduled for 13h10 and 15h00.
